Every 4th of July, I take the time to treat myself to some custom nail art. There’s nothing better than showing off a patriotic mani to celebrate the nation’s independence. This year I went with something simple and classic: white stars over a red and blue base.
Red & Blue Manicure
My red and blue base coat struck the perfect balance of being firmly patriotic while still looking chic. The blue shade had a slight glittery quality, which really added to the sparkle. The white stars tied everything together and made the look festive.
Enhanced with Glitter
I wanted to amp up the nail design, so I decided to add a touch of glitter. My go-to product is a sparkly silver polish of thin consistency, which comes in handy for small details. It was perfect for adding the right amount of extra sparkle to my star designs.
Long Lasting Manicure
After coating my nails with a clear top coat and letting it dry, wax sealed in my design and made it last significantly longer. Without it, the design probably would not have been as vibrant and would have chipped easily. So if you’re hoping for your look to last, be sure to finish with a clear top coat.
My red, blue and white mani was the perfect representation of our nation’s colors. In the midst of all the festivities, trips to the beach, and viewing of fireworks, it sure was a fabulous way to show off my American style.
